A note from Jesse Maurier, a former CYC singer (July 2015)!
Dear Cheryl,
You probably do not remember me singing with CYC for a couple of years and sadly it has become a foggy memory in my head seeing as it has been around 7 years since I was last there. Tonight my mother was going through old family DVDs of musical performances and she happened upon audio to The Peace of Wild Things. Simply hearing it after such a long time brought back a flood of wonderful memories from participating in it. I remember being in the front row next to Riland and Sebastian if that can help you locate me.
I want to sincerely thank you for such a wonderful experience at that young age. Your efforts in sharing your knowledge of music is a gift to all involved, especially young kids.
I turn 21 this year and am studying abroad this semester in Singapore. I haven't had much time for music the past couple of years as popular culture and the athletic industry have slowly crept into my life. After hearing that piece tonight I truly hope to turn the tide and envelop myself in more music either through my school (Ithaca College) or on my own.
Thank you again for being a wonderful and uncompromising director.

I felt so honored to receive the wonderful proclamation and scholarship at our concert this week. My years with the choir have been fantastic and fun beyond words.
I will forever sing the praises of this organization and share with people what being part of the choir has meant to me.
At my high school graduation at the Mello Center, I was asked to give a speech. A fellow classmate asked, “Aren’t you nervous to talk in front of all these people?”
I replied, “Well, I sang on this stage a few weeks ago, so I guess I can give a speech.” I wasn’t in the least bit nervous.
Thank you for all the gifts you have given me, both tangible and intangible. I’ll see you at Symphonic Chorus!
